04.03.2026 10:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think because how the Ori use religion as a form of oppression is more akin to how it's used to oppress in reality, so as a metaphor it works even better. And even though the Jaffa plotline reached a conclusion in S8, seeing what happens _after_ the protagonists have won is also rarely seen.
04.03.2026 10:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0End of third month of my #StargateRewatch - now on s9 ep 1 of SG-1 - 51st DVD of 96. Ben Browder joins the cast. This actually feels more like the pilot of a spin-off show, and no worse for that. The Goa'uld storyline naturally ran its course, and the Ori are (if anything) a scarier foe.

The small, brave band of MPs who represent the trampled, not the tramplers, has a very welcome new member.
We should all ask ourselves why, in a supposed democracy, such representatives are so rare.

My creative solution involving a chisel and a mallet led to me and the kitchen now being covered in chopped tomatoes. So maybe I'm not the best judge of creativity.
23.02.2026 12:22 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Calling yourself a "creative" makes it clear that you think everyone else isn't. It's very rare to meet someone who doesn't have some creative talent.
23.02.2026 12:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0First had it pointed out to me by my wife who got very angry while we were looking at The Great Tapestry of Scotland. The posh blokes who did the art that the tapestry was based on were the creatives, the (mainly) women (mainly) working class embroiderers who did the work were the craftspeople.

It's disappointing (and dangerous) that this is an opt-in process rather than opt-out. Default should be that children get vaccinated _unless_ parents object. Some won't be bothered, and if the child is pro-vaccine and the parents aren't, they can just not tell them www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
