now that the govt shutdown is over, y'all will need to really yell and scream about these bills because many of them are going to be pushed again.
tell your representatives to OPPOSE these shitty policies!

30.10.2025 18:42 β π 4 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0#Amazon #Ring just partnered with #Flock Safety to create a surveillance pipeline from your doorbell straight to police databases, including ICE, Secret Service & Navy. Same day as the announcement, @404media.co exposed Flockβs fed access. Theyβre not even hiding it anymore.
17.10.2025 23:28 β π 3 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0#Ring just announced theyβre partnering with #Flock Safety to pipeline your doorbell footage directly to police. You know, Flock.. the company thatβs been caught letting #ICE track vehicles without warrants. They promised to stop warrantless requests in 2024. That lasted exactly 9 monthsβ¦
18.10.2025 13:08 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0The Electronic Frontier Foundation maintains the Atlas of Surveillance, a searchable database tracking police surveillance technology including Flock cameras by city, county, and agency across the U.S. You can search by your location or leave it blank to browse the entire country.
18.10.2025 13:11 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0When users contacted Digi, Movistar, Vodafone about broken WireGuard VPN connections, ISPs claimed βno technical issues foundβ while actively poisoning DNS queries. Theyβre gaslighting customers to avoid admitting court-ordered sabotage.
19.10.2025 13:54 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0Letβs be clear about whatβs happeningβ¦ ISPs are redirecting ddns.net to 127.0.0.1
Itβs DNS poisoning as official policy. Theyβre deliberately breaking legitimate network infrastructure to target piracy sites they wonβt even name. As a network engineer, this is architectural sabotage.
Coming soon!

23.09.2025 19:14 β π 5 π 3 π¬ 1 π 0This is a gross abuse of privacy if the DOJ wins a case against our state to hand over private information on voters. No party, no government besides our own democratically elected government in the State of Oregon should have access to our private data and personal information.
17.09.2025 01:14 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0It's time to take privacy seriously for all Americans. Why? Because a wave of anti-privacy monuments are being built into our landscape:
15.09.2025 01:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0𧡠Portland Police are accepting comments on Automated License Plate Reader policy until tomorrow. I spent lots of personal time lately to dig into this. There's very little info about the ALPR system. The policy under review is from 2013. Here's what I noted in my comments -- You can comment too:
30.08.2025 17:57 β π 8 π 6 π¬ 1 π 2Cell-site simulators (CSS, also known as Stingrays or IMSI catchers) are devices that masquerade as legitimate cell-phone towers, tricking phones within a certain radius into connecting to the device rather than a tower. Our tool, Rayhunter, can help you find them. www.eff.org/deeplinks/2...
12.08.2025 23:57 β π 263 π 109 π¬ 7 π 7It is officially author rebuttal time for @neuripsconf.bsky.social papers. For me this year's crop was broadly in the AI governance subject area. Awesome learning opportunity!
31.07.2025 22:33 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0π§΅Can city utilities boost revenues, reduce debt burdens & do so equitably? My latest personal reporting uses records obtained via public records request to investigate Portland Water Bureau's algorithmic segmented pricing program, inspired by a corporate tech pricing scheme. I dug deep on the data:
09.06.2025 13:49 β π 6 π 5 π¬ 1 π 3The more pressure platforms and websites face to age-gate services, the more radically it could change people's relationships with the internet, EFFβs @davidgreene.bsky.social told @arstechnica.com. arstechnica.com/tech-policy...
01.08.2025 20:00 β π 101 π 36 π¬ 1 π 5One has to wonder how secure data centers are, particularly with regard to public consumer data that is collected.
23.07.2025 00:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0AI concerns are a bipartisan and frankly a post political issue. We must break free of our political tribes and meet these problems head on. We can only win with a coalition of serious people seriously approaching these potential threats to the safety and security of our communities.
04.06.2025 01:28 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Some very serious and legitimate questions need to be posed to our elected reps and government offices.
04.06.2025 01:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A very serious concern is ICE having backdoor access to security cameras. And how many surveillance cameras in a city do agencies have? and how easy for those surveillance networks, both private and public, to access through legal or illegal means by both US and foreign intel agencies?
04.06.2025 01:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Appreciate speaking with Justin and working with the team at @techpolicypress.bsky.social, as always.
