He flips the book open. The contents he doesn't yet need but maybe one day he will be able to actually have beehives.

"It's the same temperature as always, John. You're not coming down with something, do you?"

"You just mentioned everything that would make any experiment boring." He says with a dramatic sigh. It appears that he will have to read a book.

When he has a book on his lap he glances at John with a raised eyebrow. "You realise that you will fall asleep within minutes when you get comfortable–

After a few minutes he tossed the newspaper away.He doesn't need more time to figure out that there's nothing interesting happening and he just can not be bothered by cases about infidelity. "One would think that there would be at least one creative criminal in a city as big as London." He grumbles.

"There is if it is crap telly that makes my brain wither away." He is reaching for the newspaper then, maybe there's a case hidden somewhere in the pages.

It doesn't need much for him to deduce what's on the telly.

"It was the babysitter." He says, taking a sip of his tea. "I don't know why you bother putting such things on the telly when I am present."

He hums at the smell of the tea, knowing that John made it just right.

"That... is awfully clever of you, I must admit that. And you will not die from dehydraction this quickly. You as a Doctor should know that, John."

John's amusement is confusing,a frown appearing at the gentle squeeze. Not that he minds such gestures if they are coming from John.

"I thought I was supposed to make my own tea for the next 30 days?"

"If you bring Mycroft into this then I will refuse to follow through with it."

He narrows his eyes slightly. "Do you feel the need to put up a contract? Please. I stand by my word."

"30 days and I may be convinced to wear the reindeer ears and a ridiculous christmas jumper you seem to enjoy wearing for whatever reason."

"60 days of you not making tea for me? That is unacceptable. Going through with getting you a present seems less of a hassle."

"Does this mean that I do not have to go through the hassle of purchasing you one?"

"While that might be true, you are indeed short, the tea you make does taste better."

"Don't be dull. You're closer to the kitchen than I am."

John. John? Tea!

Not this time, no. Mrs. Hudson is still mad at me for the last time I shot at her walls.
