National so far this term:

Getting to your meeting 30 seconds quicker is a higher priority than protecting kids from cars on their way to school

Keeping school attendance up is a higher priority than protecting kids from measles

Saving a few bucks is a higher priority than a decent lunch

Again, if the herald were consistent, this would be: β€œPETROL Lamborghini supercar goes up in flames…”

Trickledown Economics. Ask nothing of the wealthy and their corporations and they will eventually create a society in which all prosper.

On the right: Pinata Economics. Instead of fruitlessly waiting for wealth to trickle down, beat the rich with blunt instruments until the gold flows.

A grubby, grotty attempt to shirk responsibility for decades of horror OPINION: The Government’s move to make it harder for some victims of abuse in state care to access compensation is disgusting.

More despicable behaviour from a despicable Government. #nzpol

The richest man on earth owns X.

The second richest man on earth is about to acquire TikTok and his family could soon own both Paramount and Warner Bros.

The third richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

The fourth richest man owns The Washington Post.

See the problem here?

PM secures $8100 rates cut on luxury Waiheke holiday home Ninety per cent of property owners who challenged valuations are waiting for decisions.

Let's not forget or forgive that while Rortin' Luxon gamed the system for a $8,100 rates cut on his $10m dollar holiday home, low income homeowners have to re-apply every year for an elaborately means-tested rates rebate (not cut) capped at $805. #nzpol

Indeed it is.
For those following along at home, youth unemployment is higher in rural areas (eg Northland) and wildly skewed by ethnicity, eg unemployment rates for Pacific youth est 20%. Our M & P youth deserve better.
Again, we need a conversation abt this.

Great benefits, what about the costs? - Greater Auckland Big infrastructure projects are great if you only count the benefits and none of the costs. That seems to be the position of infrastructure lobby group Infrastructure NZ, based on

"I don’t know about you, but paying $180 million a year for a project that delivers an annual $63 million (or $79 million) in benefits doesn’t sound like a very good deal."
