09.03.2026 14:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What a lovely remembrance!
09.03.2026 14:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Oh gods, my husband had this clock for years. It was a glorious day when I finally got to throw it away.
09.03.2026 13:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The constant background radiation of evil being rewarded? Yeah that. Also, I should take a shower and go to bed.
09.03.2026 03:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I thought I was doing ok, and then suddenly I'm sitting here crying over a movie I saw once, fifteen years ago.
09.03.2026 03:17 β π 18 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0I will when I figure out where I put it!
08.03.2026 18:30 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0One of these days a grieving parent at a dignified transfer is going to fervently shake his hand and fake-fawn "Thank you so, SO much for taking time away from your golfing to honor my child" and he won't even understand they're being facetious.
08.03.2026 16:22 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I wove a guitar strap (several actually), but somehow canβt manage to get around to attaching the hardware to the band.
08.03.2026 15:32 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think youβre right about crochet here (I wouldnβt know about pottery). I do enjoy seeing yours! Iβm just too pigheaded to be a product for Meta. In fairness, Iβm not using social media to try to promote a business, so I can make that choice without taking a financial hit.
08.03.2026 15:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yeah here it would make more sense to stay on Standard time year round, but I get why the Mainers would rather have DST year round.
08.03.2026 15:19 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Theyβre here, but one has to hunt for them because there isnβt an aggressive algorithm hunting them down for you. (Meanwhile, on Threads, if you express sympathy for one person, its algorithm will flood you with sad posts.) Are you subscribed to a good set of Feeds?
08.03.2026 15:17 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβm not only on the western edge of a time zone, but on one thatβs drawn so that it bulges extra far to the west. Sunset will be at 9:20 here on the 4th of July.
08.03.2026 15:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Welcome to Daylight Stupid Time, all ye who celebrate.

Me: You put your Diet Coke in a GLASS? Why aren't you drinking from the can as the gods intended?
Him: I wanted it cold
Me: Well why don't you keep one in the fridge then?
Him <sternly> This is not a problem that needs solving. What do you care?
Me: Because FUCK ICE, that's why
To the owners of all the gigantic F150s that passed me on the prairie today: I got 35.7 mpg in my Subaru Forester on a trip that wasn't even all highway driving. HAHA I WIN
08.03.2026 03:47 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Sadly I do not have this skill
08.03.2026 03:30 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And at no time on this trip did I go into a guitar store and try out semi hollow body electrics. So virtuous.
08.03.2026 00:53 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Two hanks of sock yarn and two braids of fiber laid out parallel on the seat of a car. The yarn and the fiber are all in shades of teal and purple, although the fiber also has a fair amount of white.
I was quite restrained at the fiber festival.
08.03.2026 00:44 β π 19 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Itβs so unfair that the Illinois Fiber Festival doesnβt line up with your spring break :(
07.03.2026 16:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs Bloomington Illinois! Just east of Veteranβs Parkway at East Vernon Ave.
07.03.2026 16:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Currently drinking a latte in the car in the parking lot of the McLean County Fairgrounds while waiting for the Illinois Fiber Festival to open.
07.03.2026 14:41 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0Thatβs what I ended up doing!
07.03.2026 14:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Toe up is my default, but at 9 stitches per inch, I can manage to flub a double wrapped short row heel in low light (sometimes I drop a loop while p3togtbl), and my other preferred heel requires picking up stitches.
07.03.2026 14:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Got a latte from a shipping container this morning. @acerbicotter.bsky.social, recognize this place?
07.03.2026 14:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Have acquired soda, candy, and $3.99/gallon gas (sigh). Road trip commencing.
06.03.2026 18:27 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That's what I used to do too! But hotel lighting has gotten so bad that it doesn't play well with my aging vision and preference for very thin sock yarn. I can work on a leg or a foot, but I'll have trouble turning a heel in low light.
06.03.2026 17:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I guess I have to cancel my trip, Gus is asleep in my overnight bag.
06.03.2026 17:51 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Aaaargh I'm about to leave on an overnight trip but I just finished my active knitting π§Ά project.
06.03.2026 16:56 β π 10 π 0 π¬ 4 π 0A knitted scarf laid out in a on a table. Itβs zigzag folded so it goes from lower left to upper right. Ends are cropped out so that knitted fabric mostly fills the frame. Scarf pattern is large short row alternating triangles of garter stitch with an eyelet row every eight rows. The yarn has irregular medium-length color changes of rust, purple, blue-gray, and tan (think: Badlands cliff face colors).
My scarf project βin progressβ (blocked, but ends not yet woven in). Volna pattern, light fingering weight 2-ply handspun.
