Nothing brings colonial powers together like bombing brown people.

Imagine how they’d all react if, for example, China and Iran bombed the shit out of Israel and killed its top leaders, then declared Israelis have a chance to not be led by genocidal freaks.

Quite the headline change on this piece

This is one of the videos the NYT has verified and links to in their reporting.

NYT: "Video verified by [NYT] showed ... rescuers digging through the rubble with building cranes and shovels, and piles of bloodied, dusty backpacks."

The primary reason why diplomacy has been failing in the region over the last decade is because either the US or Israel wanted it to fail.

This isn't like WWI where everyone was keen on diplomacy to fail so colonial spoils could be fought over. This lies squarely at the feet of the US and Israel.

What is an "Iran-related hosility?" Is that when the US and Israel bomb an elementary school for girls?

It is clear now that the Omani foreign minister's sudden media blitz last night was an attempt to shame the United States by putting into the public record how readily Iran was prepared to reach a deal.

The night before the United States started bombing Iran (again), Sam Altman made an agreement with the Department of War.

He cannot be trusted. His company cannot be trusted. It just adds to what I wrote earlier this week.

Making peace with this realityβ€”and it is a realityβ€”means doing whatever it takes to hold every single one of these people severely and thoroughly accountable for their crimes.

Why are Chinese EVs cheaper than Tesla? Scale, low-cost talent, and in-house manufacturing account for most of BYD’s cost gap with Tesla.

β€œChinese state subsidies account for just 5% of BYD’s $4,700 per-vehicle cost gap with Tesla … The gap stems from deeper vertical integration, greater scale, and lower overheads that Western rivals would struggle to match without clashing with their own governments’ industrial policies.”

I don't! I know about Energy East because I was there for some of those meetings. Quick scan of the UPA website and news articles doesn't really show any public stance on the 13, but I don't know beyond that

26.02.2026 04:20 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The UPA, which organized these protests, took a lot (years!) of convincing in order to actually oppose the Energy East pipeline a decade ago. And even when they finally came around, they never organized this type of protest.

But they're choosing to draw the line over high speed rail? Come on.

They beat a blind refugee who speaks no English for failing to obey police commands he could not understand. Then instead of apologizing, they charged him with possession of a β€œweapon”—HIS WALKING STICK. Then they dumped him miles from home without notifying anyone, after which he was found dead.

Cuban troops kill 4 in confrontation with Florida speedboat Cuba’s government said the crew opened fire on members of its border guard.

A boatload of Cuban-Americans attempted to clandestinely enter Cuba with guns and explosives, and fired on Cuban soldiers when caught. The US Embassy immediately attempted to "access" the arrested survivors.

But don't worry: Marco Rubio swears they weren't working for the US government

The feds quietly released the 2030 #SustainableJobs Action Plan this week as required under the Sustainable Jobs Act. At a glance it reads like a press release for the government's current economic agenda, hoping to find some genuine new policies for advancing pro-worker climate action...

I don't know that any social media platform is good for you but the stated intention of the owner of twitter is to make you worse and studies are now showing that he's having some success with that. This isn't esoteric, everyone knows it. So at this point being judgmental about staying there is fine

Globe editorial: Aid the Cuban people, not their oppressors Groups are pressing Canada to supply aid, but many of these proposals are misguided and would serve to prop up a repressive dictatorship

The Globe's editorial board thinks providing fuel to keep Cuban hospitals running is "aiding the oppressor" and we "shouldn't let our compassion" get in the way of US aggression.

They specifically cite my proposal to send Canadian oil to Cuba, calling it "unwise" to "unnecessarily anger the US."

1/ ProPublica collected handwritten letters in mid-January from children held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the same facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was taken.

Hundreds of kids are still detained.

We’ll let the children’s words speak for themselves. 🧡

We have two dominant visions for digital tech: one from major corporations that maximizes profit at any cost, and another based on cyberlibertarian ideals that assumes you must code to participate in society.

We need another: where the public sector builds and funds tech for the broad public good.

This is something the Nazis used to do to Jewish children in the camps. It happened to a man I knew when he was a child in Auschwitz. The camp guards thought it was funny as hell.

The U.S. intercepts tanker linked to Cuba coming from Colombia: Suspicious maneuver took it south of Haiti The U.S. Coast Guard intercepted the tanker Ocean Mariner near Haiti after a suspicious maneuver in the Windward Passage. Cuba is facing an energy crisis and relies on fuel imports.

It appears that the U.S. has hijacked another oil tanker in the Caribbean which may have been on its way to Cubaβ€”this one coming from Colombia. More details to come before long.

Remember when the U.S. bombed Yemen to "secure free shipping lanes" in the Red Sea?

This is after doubling the poverty rate in the country.

More work more poverty more police brutality = anarcho capitalism
