I ask you in all humility not to take this position. I have to look at both classes from a principled standpoint. I won't dismiss someone out of hand because of the body and sexuality the're born into. It's just wrong. Franken is someone who is deeply flawed, but the flaws aren't about his identity.

But Erin, honestly, the issue is NOT being White and cis male. You know this. I know you do. We are engaging in a similar sort of bigotry and dehumanization as the enemy when we take these positions. The issue is the way they think. Even if a sort of patriarchy is correlated, it's not definitive.

I think this is unfairly reductive. He has to be more than just his gender and racial identity, just like you and I have to be more than that. If someone were to say about me that all they lost is the perspective of a straight, Black man I would think of this a dehumanizing. We shouldn't do this.
