It seems like his hair should never be drawn from the front. Otherwise, only the colors indicate he's Axl and not just some random character. Not even his armor helps him.

I usually find my sketches ugly and don't feel like posting them, maybe it's a lack of confidence or poor technique. Anyway, I wanted to share this one: a test to make Axl look less robotic and see which modifications break his visual identity.
