The defense industry in the US is benefitting enormously from Trump's adventurism. Their order books are already bulging and now the US needs to replenish its weaponry expended on Venuzuela, Yemen, Equador, and Iran (both directly and via Israel). Their campaign contributions?

Whichever Republican prevails in the runoff for the Senate seat that Cornyn currently occupies, he will be damaged and will have spent a fortune just to get to the November election. Like the Iran/Iraq war years ago, here's hoping somehow they both lose.

Talerico appears to have won the Senate primary in Texas. I think he could win in November, especially against Paxton. I love to see Jasmine Crockett take over the DOJ in the next administration. Let's hope she can stay in the House in the meantime.

Once again, as with Venuzuela, Trump is demonstrating that he doesn't really care about the people suffering under the oppressive regimes he attacks. He encourages the Iranian people to rise up, but then says he doesn't care who takes over and is willing to make a deal with the theocracy.

Because that rarely happens in a war zone? Gee, who could have seen that coming? Maybe some of the generals sacked by Hegseth because they weren't sufficiently on board with the Trump agenda.

We knew this kind of thing was coming, along with the Arctic Wildlife Reserve drilling, as soon as Trump put Burgum in charge as Secretary of the Interior. That he was also named, "Energy Czar" tells you all you need to know.

Just as with Trump, other people's losses are all acceptable, just so they don't affect him.

And how is that different from "Israel forced Trump's hand"? You mean the US couldn't keep Israel from starting a Middle East war?

Any losses that aren't his, personally, are acceptable losses. Innocent lives, livelihoods, life savings, are all acceptable as long as they are happening to someone else.

Maybe they had a concept of a plan to invade the US. Iranian boots on the ground in NY, Washington DC, Atlanta....

"We follow the law". But where the law gives us latitude to be lenient, or show some compassion, we chose to take the cruelest course and let the DOJ cover our asses.

Don't be so modest. It will make the whole world hotter and drier. Politicians only think as far as the next election. Only leaders think about the long term future. Sadly, we don't have many of those anywhere in the world.

The most convoluted logic I have heard so far came from Rubio. He said they knew that when Israel attacked them, they would retaliate against the US assets we have been building up in the area in preparation for attacking them.

Israel certainly has form on bombing hospitals and schools. The usual excuse it that there was a Hamas terrorist in there somewhere among the patients or children.

Like some of the wars Trump has ended several times in the past year, he has now obiliterated Iran's nuclear capabilites twice in a matter of months. Aside from demonstrating that the US does not negotiate in good faith, what has he accomplished? Regime change? not likely. Peace? less likely
