Been knocking out a few miniatures lately. Got most of my Nemesis Claw Kill Team painted up and finally got around to this Master of Possession.

Yeah his future feels bright in WWE. Glad they had him premier against Gable and not in the LWO (which was a very real fear)

Priest/Balor was absolutely wild.

They are not fucking around with Raw on Netflix. PLE level matches all over the first two shows.

Joining my first Necromunda campaign Sunday. I’ve played one game in preparation. This is either going to be awesome or so shitty.

(Dis)honorable mention: started watching Lethal Weapon, but I had to stop. Lots of s*ic*de talk and glorifying police violence. I’m good.

The Northman: Eggers was like “what if we made Conan, but with Vikings?” It was fine—typical Eggers: grim, depressing, and unhinged.

Road House (2024): okay stay with me: I actually think this movie slaps. The plot is paper thin, but the charisma of the cast (or maybe just Jake Gyllenhaal) kept it alive.

Love Actually: never seen this, either. Pretty great. Hugh Grant was actually charming at one point? Young Andrew Lincoln (“CORL!”) is wild.

Singing in the Rain: never actually seen this before. The plot was kinda meta, the dancing and physical comedy was outstanding, but probably a few musical numbers too long.

Argylle: when this movie came out I remember hearing it was written by AI. I don’t think that is true, but it was dumb anyway. My love of Bryce Dallas Howard made me watch it to the end.

I had a 9.5 hour flight today and I didn’t sleep a wink. I did watch 5 movies, though. In this thread I will give one sentence reviews of all of them.

The English seem to love cauliflower. I’ve had it at almost every meal.

On a different note: cons are rough business. I’ve been trying to table and do panels, and either it’s a mad dash to apply & almost impossible to get in, or fees are wildly expensive & out of the budget for small time creators like myself. If anyone has hot tips for ttrpg conventions, I’m all ears.

But the comments are weird, and that’s funny.

Because, news flash: nothing changed, and nothing is going to change because of those views. In fact, it’s not even that many views in the social media world. Just a momentary flash.

In reality, probably nothing. But it gives us the skewed perspective that something is happening, that we’re “going viral.” I can see how people get trapped in the pursuit of views and engagement, trying to get to some imaginary number that will theoretically change their life.

It’s weird to have the veil pulled back on the pointlessness of social media. I posted a video of myself lifting the giant d20 (as seen in my avatar) and just short of 350k people have watched it. That’s hundreds of thousands more views than my regular content, but what does that mean?

Update: I fell asleep 5 minutes in.
