When will the GMC act against anti-vax doctor? It’s three years since a complaint was lodged against a doctor who recently linked Covid vaccines to cancer at Reform’s conference. But the General Medical Council still hasn’t taken action.

No doctor should be able to act without accountability.

But if the GMC does not take this to a tribunal, it will look like they only take action against easy targets, and bad doctors can be protected by having powerful friends.

Public health shouldn’t be centred around individual behaviour change. It should be focused on changing the wider commercial, social, environmental & ultimately political determinants of health. Behaviour change will naturally come when healthy behaviours are facilitated by those structural changes.

Disagree. The best wealth tax would be a Land Value Tax, and would only tax pensioners if they are landowners.

I'd favour a Land Value Tax, but call it a Land Ownership Tax.

It deals with the problem of wealth inequality without creating new ones, and is even favour by tax policy wonks like @danneidle.bsky.social

I don't see how we can begin to have an answer without having a serious conversation about how to tax wealth sustainably.

We're the 6th largest economy in the world - I just don't buy that we lack the means.

I first noticed him on Diary of a CEO and was horrified then. He came across as someone so traumatised by the avoidable death of his father that he's lost his grip on reality.

Ironic that so many other deaths are risked by his misinformation.

I admire your optimism, but I sense you might not understand the implications of an animal reservoir.

For example, birds are the animal reservoir for flu - to eradicate it you would need to vaccinate every bird on the planet. It's just not feasible with current technology.

That's alarming. But not surprising.

Surely some marketing whizz knows what you have to do to get people to put something extraordinarily helpful into your body.

If they can make folks rub smelly chemicals into their face in creams or make-up I refuse to believe they can't do it with this.

I can't help but think a lot of vaccine scepticism is down to branding issues.
