Thanks so much for creating this starter pack, and I'd be grateful if you could add me to it : ) !
My interests include competency-based training in mindfulness-based treatments, and empirically mapping the stages of insight in clinical and meditation settings πͺ·

Practicing non-identification can feel liberating.
πΌ Itβs like a flower bloomingβ glorious, transientβ yet it doesnβt bloom by thinking, βI am this bloom.β πΌ
Have you ever practiced this? Iβd love to hear your experiences!

With equanimity, we experience sensations fully:
- without using them to build a story about ourselves
- without turning them into a sense of self
This is the true power of equanimityβit frees us to feel, respond (rather than react), and π±grow π± without being tied to limiting narratives

Part 3 of #equanimity's definition:
π Without identifying with sensations π
What does this mean? Itβs not about denying sensations or pushing them away. Instead, itβs about recognizing that:
"You" are not "your" sensations

Thank you SO much for sharing.
I relate to the writing out the story of the presentation word by word (and cutting it down, again and again!)
Time to try out the βgroup ideas in 3βsβ β¦ thatβs new for me!

One of the ways that #equanimity and #mindfulness are MISUNDERSTOOD is as
βaccept things as they areβ
But itβs the opposite!!
Equanimity empowers us to
π― ACT π―
((rather than π‘ REACT π‘))

At a moment-to-moment level, when we are being equanimous, itβs our *sensations* that we are accepting, with a genuine willingness to feel them as they are
β¦ not the other personβs behaviour, the situation we find ourselves in, or the state of the world!

What sensations have you rolled the red carpet out for?
By welcoming them with equanimity, we can create a inner pause - even for just a second or two.
This is the mighty Pause of Possibility! πͺ

With equanimity, we feel the sensations without resenting them or wishing they were different.
And, of course, without trying to change them in any way!
I like to imagine that Iβm βrolling out the red carpetβ for them - willing to feel them in βall their gloryβ even if only for a few seconds.

Equanimity in relationships...a powerful combination!
It has the potential to both increase intimacy while strengthening boundaries, which can sound like a paradox, but they unfold together in the moment.

Equanimity = Bringing an equal interest to pleasant, unpleasant and neutral sensations, without reacting to them and without identifying with them.
And one more important tidibit : ) - while continuing to feel them!
Published in Mindfulness journal in 2011
Equanimity has many definitions, but this one has been the most clinically usefulβand personally meaningfulβfor me. π
I'll unpack it over the next few weeks. Let me know your thoughts!
