It has been almost 24 hours since Public Safety sent their email, and no more information has been released. Alex Rabar is the Interim Director of Public Safety, and he has been at W&L since January.

The break-in hits close to home for junior Olivia Lovan. But, she says she still feels safe on W&L's campus. Lovan is taking more safety precautions going forward.

LEXINGTON - The man who answers the phone from Rockbridge County Sheriff's Office seems unaware of the break-in, so he provides an investigator's number who does not answer. The office's number is listed in the original email from W&L Public Safety, but they do not have any new information.

LEXINGTON - In the same phone call at 12:35 p.m., W&L Public Safety Investigator Alex Pritt confirmed that the break-in occurred on Sunday, May 4. There was confusion in the first email as the date was listed as Sunday, May 6.

LEXINGTON - Despite the events that the affected third year resident experienced a few months ago, W&L Public Safety Investigator Alex Pritt says in a phone call at 12:35 p.m. on Wednesday that there have not been other previous situations "pertaining to this case in particular."

In a call at 10:04 p.m. on Tuesday, an affected resident expressed that a similar situation happened a few months ago at Augusta Square Housing (known to students as Third Year). The resident said a non-threatening young man walked into the bedroom with a flashlight and walked out soon after.

Public Safety Dispatcher Travis Shlien-Dellinger said in a phone call at 9:56 p.m. on Tuesday that he wasn't sure why the email about the suspicious activity was sent two days late. He later said that sometimes they hold off on releasing information because they don't want anything to be inaccurate.

Washington and Lee University Public Safety Department emails students at 9:24 p.m. about suspicious activity on campus
