As I get older I feel like the work of mid-life, as a parent, is understanding the shadow cast by the decisions of your own parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. Along with the pain they suffered through. And not casting that onto your children, and the generations that will follow.

About last night. There were goosebumps and almost tears. Brilliant performance by BBC Symphony Orchestra for Radio 3 at @southbank who excelled at Bridgeton and Beyond. A winning score had to be a toss up between Pride & Prejudice and Downton Abbey. #classicalmusic #MyLifeAsMarsha

We need agency to act to make changes in the health system, yet we are always seeking permission. We need to start modelling data looking at burden of disease, against mortality, birth rates, sickness absence, demographics, census to understand population health and demand/supply for healthcare.

Free chickenpox vaccination offered for first time to children A free chickenpox vaccination will offered for first time to children across England on the NHS from January.

A free chicken pox vaccine will be offered to children as part of their vaccination programme from January.

It will be given in a joint vaccine for measles, mumps & rubella, replacing MMR with the MMRV vaccine.

It is the 1st addition to the childhood vaccination programmes for a decade.
