This means individuals in the following statuses at the time of application are eligible: Undergraduate in the final (senior) year of a bachelorβs degree program Bachelorβs degree-holder with NO enrollment in a graduate degree program (non-degree graduate coursework allowed) Individual enrolled in a joint bachelorβs-masterβs degree program with at least three undergraduate years completed First-year graduate student in their first graduate degree program with less than one academic year completed in the degree program (according to institutionβs academic calendar) Individuals enrolled in joint bachelorβs-masterβs degree programs are considered graduate students. For GRFP, joint bachelorβs-masterβs degrees are defined as degrees concurrently pursued and awarded. Not be a current NSF employee. Applications that do not meet eligibility requirements will be returned without review as being ineligible for a fellowship.
Announcing such a major change to NSF GRFP this late in the cycle is incredibly cruel. 2nd yr students (mine included) have been working so hard on their proposals despite ongoing uncertainty. They are driven and passionate about being outstanding scientists and helping those coming up behind them.

"We are on the precipice of being able to end HIV in our country," ISGMH's @mustanski.bsky.social tells @axios.com.
"We have the tools to solve it, ... but if we back off that, if we take our foot off the pedal, we will have more #HIV cases in the United States." www.axios.com/local/chicag...
120 scientist working together to study how to effectively implement programs to end the HIV epidemic! Thatβs epic!
03.04.2025 05:29 β π 4 π 3 π¬ 0 π 0also, I think it's important to note that it's okay for trans people to have regrets. It's okay for them to have doubt. It's okay for people to detransition, whether they end up resuming transition or not. We should be given the same grace to be human as anyone else
13.04.2025 21:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Anyways please stand up and speak out for trans people. It's lonely and it's scary out here. We don't have the same power and influence as researchers anymore, but we are humans first who will always have the ability to advocate for each other, so please do so in any way you can.

These studies will probably get cut too when findings support that:
1) a very small minority of people detransition
2) of those that do detransition, the majority do it for their safety or financial reasons
3) many "detransitioners" REtransition at some point
trans people aren't going anywhereπ€·
Iβll just let any psychologists considering this path know: Our generation will not be as kind to you as our elders were to the likes of Barlow and Hayes.

05.04.2025 19:05 β π 59 π 5 π¬ 0 π 0yay #CPA2025 was a blast! Providence was beautiful and more importantly, it was so fulfilling to be with other passionate researchers who care so much about keeping good (and trans inclusive!) science alive. Grateful to share this field with such amazing people!
05.04.2025 17:53 β π 9 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A phenomenal #CPA2025 @apadivision50.bsky.social! Devastating to hear the tremendous damage inflicted by senseless HHS/NIH/FDA cuts to so many in our community, and also so nourishing to be together and support each other during these times. In the past month, the NIH terminated many ISGMH grants focused on HIV prevention, LGBTQ health, and training early career scholars. The effect on our institute has been devastating.
Director @mustanski.bsky.social spoke to @nbcnews.com about the impact. www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-...
