I've been thinking a lot about...identity death? Not ego death, but the death of an online self, or the death of a professional or hobbyist identity. Existential crisis, but also "this part of me is dead or near-dead, yet instead of moving on it feels like a loss and I want to make meaning from it."

How my Reverse Lent is going so far:

- I have managed to eat meat every Friday

- I've been going out dancing and making accessories and spending time with people irl

- I forgot my password to bsky which is why I haven't been on in a month

- daylight savings time low key saved my life

What if I did Reverse Lent where instead of practicing penance, I exclusively tried to do things that made me feel good

(I'm dropping hints that I'm logging out until morale or a sense of community improves)

I would love a remix with the weeknd as part of this album cycle, mayhem feels very weeknd-coded

My first-listen thoughts:
• All the gesaffelstein tracks are standouts

• "Shadow of a man" also top-tier

• "The beast" is my favorite of the ballads

• "Can't stop the high" is my favorite bonus so far

• "Die with a smile" might've been more effective as a hidden vs closing track

I feel like people who only like the dancey songs on mayhem are missing the point of lady gaga (at her heart she is a theater kid pounding out ballads on a piano)
