RA's are usually viewed as service for us because it takes a lot more teaching than to do the task oneself. But you do hope that you are passing on some experience.

Thank you for the perspective. I agree things are complex. I am just wondering a quickly adoption will happen and if it will be more widespread or concentrated.

Real question, won't AI just multiply the resource chasm between researcher at R1's and other universities? I can't get a paid RA, much less a team of RA's. Now, it seems almost malpractice if RA's are not being taught how to use AI to make the PI 10x per RA more productive.

I have used R markdown files heavily. Include templates for assignments, CV's, papers, etc. I have not used Quatro as much and do not see an easy transfer yet. But this is due to lack of knowledge. Second, I teach using rstudio. Positron does not feel as beginner friendly.

Have you tried Positron yet? I primarily use Rstudio. I have installed positron, but haven't found a good workflow yet.
