His ancestors had dwelt by the Orontes since the days when Abram and Sarai left Ur, and Gilgamesh mourned Enkidu, and Isis scoured the earth for any trace of her beloved’s corpse. And though they had endured the countless changes in both climate and of government, the tumults of the early twenty-first century had seen his family seek better lives elsewhere; somewhere safer, much as it grieved them to depart the lands they had inhabited for years uncounted. Nonetheless, they did their best to live and raise their heirs in the fashion they believed would make their forebears proud. And when it was both safe and well within their means, they would return to visit that and those who they had left behind in the old world. It was during one such visit that the boy’s great uncle on his father’s side had greeted him upon arrival in Damascus with a gift; one intended to pass on that very love for their homeland’s traditions. The present was received with the elated grin of a book-lover already making—and concealing—plans to stay up well past his bedtime. And though neither he nor his great uncle knew it at the time… that old and leather-bound edition of One Thousand and One Nights would end up changing the boy’s life forever. Jaeger's chest swelled with pride and adoration at his best friend. She had done it; Ga Bu was returned and the tempering gone, thanks to Alisaie's passion and persistence. And now, countless others would be saved. Of course, Raha and everyone at the Ironworks played a part as well, but without Alisaie...would anyone else have been so determined to find a cure? Chatter and discussion carried on behind them, but it was merely noise to Jaeger. It all kind of went over his head anyway. In that moment, he only had eyes for Alisaie. Reigning in his emotions for this amazing woman was proving more difficult with every passing day, but he would allow himself this moment while everyone else was pre-occupied. He just needed to get it together before they planned their next steps. (Alisaie is patting Ga Bu on the head in the foreground, while Jaeger watches them. He is beaming with adoration. G'raha, Alphinaud, and Y'shtola are conversing in the background.)

Day 2 - Melody/(Discord)

Big experimentation from me for this one. Comic paneling, weird aethersight stuff, more vfx in the pose, and disconnecting parts of the body. Took a lot of time that I hope was worth it, and it ties directly to the previous day!

OH GOSH….this is beautiful….knowing that one day alisaie will get to wear such a beautiful piece with such meaning 😭😭
