We have a family Instagram account where we post random funny family videos and that video of my dad pranking her was posted on there right away!

She did! She was very happy! My aunt took her out to run some errands to get her out of the house so we could set up and my aunt said she could tell she was starting to get annoyed wondering why she was dragging her around to all these random stores on her birthday lol

My dad pranked her and called her on the phone while he was literally standing right next her and told her he wasn’t able to come and then she turned around and screamed when she saw him 😂

We thought that once she saw a few people she’d connect the dots that we were all there but she did not, she kept going from room to room screaming in surprise when she saw every new person and all the decorations lol

Once it came time for the surprise part we realized that we didn’t completely think this through 😂

We spent like 20 minutes debating the least overwhelming way to surprise her lol

The part we didn’t consider in advance was that a surprise party may be too overwhelming for an 83 year old so instead we all quietly sat in different parts of the house and waited for her to find us all 😂

Today is my grandmother’s birthday and we a throwing her a surprise party solely because if she knows about it in advance she’d spend all day making us food lol

A reminder to everybody it's okay to escape for a little while. Staying informed is very important, but taking care of yourself is as well. 🫶
