Finally, I can reveal the cover for my upcoming book. I absolutely love it - and I'm amazed by how they managed to turn my lengthy babble about what I wanted the cover to signal into something where I immediately said: "Exactly".

The e-book is out May 12th - and the physical book June 2nd.

Very good - and yes - we always have that on Christmas Eve (we celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve not Christmas Day) -- with the almond. My husband thinks it's the most boring pudding in the world, but I love it.

This whole situation is just bizarre. As a Dane, it's all just baffling.

The picture shows a stack of papers. The title on the front is "Diversity leadership for research managers". Across the pages it says "uncorrected proof".

Earlier this week this landed in my email. Feels crazy to read my own text like this.
The book will be out on 2nd June - let me know if I should come on podcasts, write pieces or present at your conference.

Today, after 15 years of supporting researchers with their research proposals, I have submitted a proposal to a research funder with me as the PI for the first time.
Keep your fingers crossed - and I'll tell you more about the project once we get funding for it.

January isn’t even over yet, and Trump had taken over and my aunt and a good friend have both been diagnosed with terminal cancer. 2025 is off to a brutal start.

What are the mediocrities going to do when they find out that “DEI” isn’t their problem? I’m curious.

but I really think we need to rethink it completely. Right now we’re forcing it in not the existing system and as the development in the tech companies show, then it’s also easy to remove again. With no consequences for the tech sector. But big consequences for minorities.

My concern is that we’re trying to solve tomorrow’s problems with yesterday’s tools. Or rather - as the sector is 10 years behind the rest of society on EDI we’re solving tomorrow’s problems with last decade’s tools. Right now I’m doing s lot of thinking and writing. I have no solutions right now

I know. I’m just genuinely scared.

I think the sector is being naive and for the first time in my adult life I’m genuinely afraid for my personal security on the future.

I desperately want to agree. But I think Stephen underestimates how conservative research institutions are. It also builds on the belief in the sector that research happens in a vaccuum. And perhaps that the research sector is more enlightened than the rest of society. My alarm bells are ringing.
