As an ex-Republican who remembers the disastrous campaigns of Christine O'Donnell and Todd Akin, I am naturally inclined to favor making the race as easy as possible by avoiding nominating idiots.

He demanded that she send him nude pictures and bullied her into a relationship. This is called sexual harassment. It was not β€œan affair”. RESIGN NOW.

In the world of Miller/Hegseth/Trump, any military that ever followed the rules of war would be fighting "politically correct."
Another way to look at it is this: we held Nazi Germany to higher standards than we are now holding ourselves.

Hint: it has nothing to do with wanting the most democratic outcome.

Ah, great. I'm sure that the guy whose father we killed will be very interested in negotiating about stuff.

Well done, everyone.

Jay Jones only won because of Abigail Spanberger's coattails. He finished 9 points behind her.

lose what should be the easiest pickup this cycle b/c the Dems nominated the wrong candidate.
If that scenario happened, the Senate would be 50-50 w/ JD Vance breaking all ties, meaning that Clarence Thomas likely retires & Trump names his replacement.
It'd be nice to do a clean sweep of all 5.

RE: Maine, I know that one poll indicated mammoth leads for Platner, but I am skeptical. That screams outlier to me.
The Nazi tattoo issue is not going to go away, and it could very well cost the Dems a winnable seat & see Susan Collins survive again.
It would suck to win NC, OH, & AK, only to

I don't think Jon Ossof loses Georgia, and I think the Dems should hold Michigan fairly easily, especially if Mallory McMorrow wins the nomination.
The GOP is spread as thin as possible on this map.

The Senate seats I think are most likely to flip this year:
-North Carolina (they can't gerrymander the Senate seat)
-Maine (if the Dems don't nominate Platner)
-Alaska (Mary Peltola FTW!)
-Ohio (Sherrod Brown's comeback story)
-Texas (if Talarico faces Paxton)

Dave Wasserman says he’s β€œseen enough” and says James Talarico has beaten Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett in the Texas US Senate primary.

Cornyn & Paxton have already had the most expensive primary ever - and that was just round 1.

Live look at the Texas GOP's war chest for the Fall Senate Race now that Cornyn and Paxton are headed to runoff.

A democratic candidate just won in the *checks notes*

Arkansas state house special election.

Flip from R to D.

Perfect storm for a Texas upset may be brewing... Talarico wins the Dem nom & Paxton/Cornyn are headed to runoff. At worst, Paxton wins the election & the GOP burns money like the Joker. Most likely, the GOP has to burn more money on Cornyn. At best, Paxton wins the nomination & loses to Talarico.

Impeach Polis. He has just set the standard that Trump can blackmail state governors into pardoning his cronies. Trump will use that again and again and again. Never give Trump an inch or he will take 1000 miles when it comes to power.
I am so disappointed in Polis.

04.03.2026 03:10 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Also, Tony Gonzales absolutely deserves to lose tonight, but I have a hard time believing he is going to survive the runoff. Since he isn't Trump, a scandal like this might actually sink him.

I am neutral in the Crockett vs. Talarico race.
I am glad to see that Ken Paxton is losing, and will probably at least have to face a runoff.
Chip Roy, Dan Crenshaw, and especially Valentina Gomez are all getting what they deserve.

Colorado Democrats need to consider impeaching Polis if he does this.

This elections official participated in Trump’s attacks on our democracy, and Trump has been trying to extort Colorado to get her released

I rarely wish deportation on anyone, but I really hope ICE deports her. Unlike 99% of the people they target, she actually is a threat to her neighbors.

I am so glad this cretin is getting destroyed tonight.
I mean, Holy Shit, there is going negative and weaponizing fear and then there is this fascist propaganda.

And a high likelihood that we fuck over the Kurds... again... because Trump will jump on some new quick fix scheme, since he has no plan.

So, in launching a huge bombing campaign on Iran they apparently didn't plan for:

- Who takes over;
- Interceptor shortages from sustained drone retaliation;
- How to defend US bases in the region;
- Threats to ships in the Strait of Hormuz; and
- How to evacuate Americans with airspace closed.

it is so funny how presidencies rise and fall on gasoline prices, which presidents often have very little real-world control over. except in this case where Donald Trump has smashed the "Double All Gas Prices Now" button via executive fiat. bold move cotton etc etc

I’m struck by how every day the admin is like β€œwhoever could have foreseen these consequences?!” when the consequences thus far β€” evacuations, the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, rise in gas prices, etc. β€” are all the literal most obvious consequences.
