It may be time for second dinner. I could have a snack like a normal human being. But really I just want to shovel the food into my face hole.

Jim got the second interview for the job he interviewed for this morning. If he gets it, everything will stop being a tragedy every time something bad happens. It will also be close to where I work so we can probably commute together on days im not wirking late. Think good thoughts. 2/2

I’m beat. I haveta get up super early to drive Jim to work since I need the car. They think I’ll know tomorrow if the motor in the Soul is under warranty. If the guy doesn’t get to it tomorrow, I’ll be waiting till next week. 1/2

You’re filling a gap that you shouldn’t HAVE to fill. They’ve put you in the bad position of being a bandaid on a systemic problem. I know this because they do it to us all the time with social work.

That is terrible. Volunteers mean well but they’re not experts in finding information, teaching literacy and teaching information literacy.

I used to think librarians weren’t doing a good enough job at conveying our value when stuff like this happened. Now days I see it as either willful ignorance or a willful desire to keep others ignorant.

I’m burning out. Partially on life problems and partially on work. I’m the only person in my department and it’s a lot. A job opened up elsewhere in the organization and I am really thinking hard about applying. It depends mostly on how much my self esteem has been crushed by my last job or not.

Omg. Mailing lists and web rings. Those were the days.

I knew the statistical odds of me tripping over the Dust Buster behind my desk was high and today I lost that lottery 😂 I’m ok. Just a bruised ego.

I’m contemplating painting the ceramic dog on my desk purple just to annoy the children. I am a good children’s librarian.

Y’all this headache will not abate today.

I needs a nap. Man. Today is going to be rough. I’m at work till 8:15 p.m. whew.

I’m sure that nap will not hinder my sleep tonight. Maybe.

I’m hoping that too. She enjoy’s suffering for the love of the game so it’s hard to get her to be honest about how she feels.

Happy things can still be stressful sometimes tho.

Mom was in an accident. She says she’s ok, but her car is totaled. I reminded her to get a police report for the insurance and begged her to go get looked at even though she says she’s ok. I hope she listens, because I worry.

It is nice to be wanted. But yes, stressful too.

I think there are a lot of worthy and important and difficult conversations both sides need to have with each other. Those techniques are a) not having that conversation and b) not activism. It’s just dropping a deuce and disappearing into the night.

Oh. I’m sorry to hear that’s why you’re off. If you need distraction go for it. If you need to leave it till you’re in another headspace, do that instead.

I’m being super-clever and I’m doing a candy tournament with the library kids for Halloween. Unfortunately, the bag of candy I got is low on both candies we’re putting against each other right now 😂 I’m working on sourcing gummies from alternate vendors right now. My job is weird sometimes 👻

I’m sleepy like a little kitty. I propose a nap for me and the cats when I get home. I’m sure they’ll be willing to help.
