Despite being a bizarre pantomime, it is worth seeing whether you can do this, as a member of the public, at your local council meeting. We can at 3 meetings a year.
It’s an opportunity to get something on the agenda, push for some answers - and see the council in action.
Lack of free parking will not be the correct answer.

Officers from #GMPTransportUnit stopped this Tesla Cybertruck in Whitefield last night. The driver was a permanent UK resident but the vehicle was registered and insured abroad which is prohibited in the UK. The Tesla Cybertruck is not road legal in the UK and does not hold a certificate of conformity. Whilst this may seem trivial to some, legitimate concerns exist around the safety of other road users or pedestrians if they were involved in a collision with a Cybertruck. The vehicle was subsequently seized under S165 of the Road Traffic Act and the driver reported.
Thank you to Greater Manchester Police for helping keep vulnerable road users safe from this.
There's a reason Tesla Cybertrucks are not legal in the UK and Europe; Cybertrucks present acute dangers to pedestrians and don’t meet European safety standards.
The vehicle has been seized.
I had a discussion with gent about this when I said "excuse me", instead of ringing bell.
He understood the can't win argument, but I think it depends a lot on the emotional intelligence both rider and pedestrian.
Of course, this issue would be mitigated with protected, segregated infrastructure.
It's ironic because drivers will complain about that but bulk at the thought of spending £1m for anything related to cycling infrastructure.

A truck has hit a bridge on my train's route to Manchester so I, along with hundreds of other passengers, have to wait, possibly not getting to our destination.
