Nah it quite literally WAS designed differently, games back then were made to be like a toy to entertain kids, finding out what to do in Zelda is intentionally obtuse because of the sense of discovery you’re meant to gain, sharing secrets with your friends on the playground, drawing the map on paper

Games were just designed differently back then, older games deserve a different mindset when you approach them, even if you don’t like it you can understand why they were liked at their time and why people have fond memories of them today and even new people can enjoy a game like Zelda 1

havent played either version but from what ive heard it's wayyy cheaper than re2 remake and cuts out a lot of stuff from the original, obviously the remake is gonna be a reimagining either way so you shouldnt expect it to perfectly capture the og but it doesnt even hold up to re2 remakes standard
