Honestly, "scrapped work" might most suit for this context. ボツ供養 is a internet meme for feeling remorseful to art works that have not been adopted or completed(ボツ), but posting it anyway as a memorial service(供養) to the art work. Tho at this point there's gotta be a English word for that I bet🙂
