AI uses em-dash because they were heavily used before, so that's what it was trained on. Also, note that modern word editors typicallly change hyphens to em-dashes if they aren't hyphenating anything. If the text was written with an editor, it'd be automatically changed.

This is an unpopular opinion nowadays, but I hate two-space tabbing in code. It's a pain to read with less-than-perfect vision, even with glasses.

Issues with width availability were solved when widescreen monitors became the norm 20+ years ago. Give your code space!
