the way they do it is by approximating the weighting with some number of threshold shares. so the message size over the wire will increase substantially. haven’t seen it in production, so I don’t have concrete numbers but it probably depends on share precision and number of participants.

this is interesting. my experience with ecosystem funds is they tend to suffer an adverse selection problem (quality projects typically want financing from bluechip tech funds which don’t want an ecosystem limitation) BUT this could extend the overton window for atproto becoming broadly investable.

my impression was atproto only gave you eventual consistency. so no notion of a deterministic block of transactions.

suggestion for decentralized moderation of legitimate accounts:
- add the ability to tag an account as fraudulent on profile pages
- if a sufficient number of the people you follow have tagged that account as fraudulent, hide them from your feed

I don’t mean to be dismissive. I agree crypto has hurt people. imo abuse is an unfortunate byproduct of a technology designed escape central control. many technologies have this quality, packet switching, cryptography. however, the fact that crypto can synthesize money elicits singular resentment.
