Today's rain is taking an age to clear and some heavy bursts on the back edge of it now. That said, only 4.4mm so far today.
19.10.2025 18:37 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Wet and very windy potential for around or just after midweek.
19.10.2025 07:41 β π 9 π 3 π¬ 0 π 1Not a bad start out there but cloud and rain are gathering. Turning wet for most from around lunchtime onwards. I'm hoping it breaks up a little as playing golf at Sale Golf Club from 11am. β³

Change arrives and not good news if you have outdoor plans.
Cloudy and windy with pulses of rain, some patchy, some heavy, coming in from the west. This rain will move away to be replaced by showers later in the day. Feeling cool in the gusty SE'ly wind.

SATURDAY
Another cloudy day for most. The cloud could be thick enough early on for some patchy light rain or drizzle. Into the afternoon, the wind will increase and this could help to develop some bright spells. Cool in the breeze.

MONDAY
A day of bright spells and heavy showers, possibly with hail and thunder as low pressure takes hold. Some of the showers merging to longer spells of rain at times.

MATCH FORECAST β½οΈ
Salford City FC v Oldham Athletic
Mostly dry with cloudy skies. Low risk of patchy light rain/drizzle. Some bright spells trying their best to sneak through later as cloud could well break a little as the wind picks up.

The air temperature at Birmingham Airport has only fluctuated by 1C since midnight. Night and day merges into oneβ¦. #anticyclonicgloom

Oh my. In shock. We have some bright spells.
15.10.2025 12:54 β π 6 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Let me know if you find an inversion, hence sunshine up above.
Otherwise it's another day of this.
High Pressure. Gone. π
Low Pressure. Returns. π
A change to more unsettled #weather next week on Sunday or Monday, yet to be decided.........
This image captured from #MeteorM2_4 shows how extensive the cloud has been across the southern half of the UK this afternoon. This low cloud is trapped under a warm layer inversion beneath high pressure.

Little happening in the #weather world.
TUESDAY: Cloudy. Dry. Odd pocket of drizzle & equally a bright spell or two. 15Β°C
WEDNESDAY - FRIDAY: Cloudy, light winds & cooler. 13Β°C
Very much a borefest for now.
If you do spot an inversion let me know π.
Cloud thick enough in places for drizzle this morning. That's the most rainfall we will see this week.
13.10.2025 07:48 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0MONDAY
A disappointing day overall with plenty of cloud about and just a few bright spells here and there especially in the north. Light winds once again, so if you do see any bright spells or sunshine it will be pleasant.
Max 15Β°C Min 11Β°C
One of those days when air sinks/ warms adiabatically under the influence of high pressure, creating an inversion..rise in temp with height
Cloud trapped under the inversion giving a chilly day some low lying parts
Places in/above the inversion, eg hills, seeing warm sunshine
SUNDAY NIGHT
Misty conditions for most with some clear skies clinging on in some spots until later in the night. Not as cold as last night where locally we saw 3Β°C. Light winds.

12.10.2025 12:18 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Temperatures still in single-figures for some, helped by the misty conditions.
Pleasantly warm if you have the blue skies and sunshine.
I'll be surprised if the #mist & #fog clears in the west. It's still stubbornly there and it's now midday. #UKWeather
