how kid friendly are the star parties?? i have a 4 year old who is really into space right now but not sure if this is a bad activity for little kiddos

Like you said, there are plenty of deep male friendships in LOTR. Very few people see romance in EVERY close male friendship. People see it in characters they identify with or like together, and often fandom creates its own art that solidifies it for them. Let people have their head canons.

i would have paid for twitter if it hadn't made it a weird badge of honor (dishonor?) and it didn't support...well, that, so i'd be in.

my fandom account is anon (as anon as you can really be anyway, I am DEEP in the 911 fandom right now), it's actually why I've started actually trying to use this because a big chunk of 911twt migrated here. but i keep it STRICTLY fandom and straight up block non-fandom interaction over there lol

Yeah, I think that's a little part of it for me, I enjoy keep my personal accounts private (or have the ability to -- I still miss the ability to control by post who sees what very easily from LJ.)

I just need to get better at actually using it! I deleted everything else almost (well, stopped using -- I'm not deleting, at least not yet).

I don't mind \algorithm as long as the other thing is an easily-accessible option, so I don't miss posts from people I care about. (Though I have minimal followers over here, anyway, at the moment.)

I admittedly still miss a lot about LJ in my social media, so I am probably not an Average User.

for real though this app is so much nicer than twitter, i have been so much more at peace over here!
