Other late-Nov temp records of note are on the 28th: 18.0C at Aber in 2000, and on the 29th: 18.3C at Ashburton in 1913. But, we still, as I type, have a way to go to equal the record 23rd temp: 20.0C in the Highlands in 1906. 2/n

We don’t normally talk about date records in this country - unlike the US - but today is of note. The warmest Nov day on record is 22.4C, Nov 1, 2015. But when the 18C readings we’ve seen in East Anglia this AM are confirmed it will be the warmest Nov 24th; previous record was 17.2C in 1970. 1/n

Thank you for your heroics Tom. I’m ashamed to say I did no such thing, and in a girlish fit of delight over my garden’s freshly received snowfall, I also used the phrase “cosy wosy”. I’m currently on the fence about whether or not I am apologetic about it all.
