They subverted expectations, played with different settings, pushed the nostalgic button, and upped the gore (a Terrifier influence). Light on meta and motive, though, which are the strongest aspects of these films. Overall, Scream fans should still find it worthwhile. π»

Iβm always going to enjoy these slasher movies. Even the lowest of the Halloweens, Friday the 13ths, and Screams are a good time. Which is to say, I feel like this one may be the weakest Scream since the third one, but it was still fun!

There are real human consequences to starting a war, which is why in a democracy like ours, the decision to wage it is not meant to be in the hands of one person.

I was born in an Iranian prison. My parents were held in their jails. My uncles lie in their mass graves.
Nothing you can tell me about the crimes of the Iranian regime that I haven't lived in blood and bone.
That doesn't mean I want my people bombed, maimed, killed, their homes in ruins.
If your vision of liberation comes only through the destruction of innocent lives, then it's not freedom you're after.
Sahar Delijani, Iranian author
I am pro Iranian people. I stand with them against their own governmentβs repression AND against the imperial violence in the form of bombs dropped from the sky from Israel & the US who have already killed hundreds.
I support neither imperialism or dictatorship.
Sahar Delijani said it best:

I don't mind a fun romantasy, but I was hoping for a bit more historical or fantasy in this "historical fantasy." I'm glad I read Outlander, but I probably won't continue on with the epic series. I wasn't as enthralled by the main romance, which likely didn't help, or wanting to stay in 1743! Agh.

The constitutional remedy for a president who attempts to commit the United States to war without authorization from Congress is impeachment, removal, disqualification, and a criminal trial.

The state of the union address was like 72 hours before the US and Israel chose to attack Iranβs capital and call for regime change, and Trump did not even mention his policy toward Iran before Congress, much less ask for a declaration of war.

In the past, sometimes presidents have said itβs just a military operation or limited airstrikes to skirt Congress. Trump has unilaterally launched major combat operations, declaring war with the goal of regime change. A major violation of the U.S. Constitution, also illegal under international law
