Be heat aware this weekend! Heat is already gripping the Northern and Northeastern parts of the state. Find shade, drink plenty of water and limit strenuous activities in the heat and a friendly reminder to try and water plants and trees before or after the heat of the day!

One likely occured in several locales near Fertile, MN around 4am this morning after passage of a thunderstorm that coincided with a 30 MPH wind gust and a high temperature "island" of 93 degrees! If you've ever been following a storm in the state and heard a meteorologist say "it's hard to tell what exactly is going on, this storm is in a bit of a radar hole" then this is what Meteorologist and MN State Senator Robert Kupec, along with companies like Climavision, are trying to address.
