Heidelberg West rallies against council plan to close its run-down pool
The disadvantaged community of Heidelberg West faces the imminent closure of its public swimming pool, which has been left to deteriorate for decades.
Banyule council has voted to decommission the Olympic Village Pool in Heidelberg West. Local ward councillor Mary O'Kane was the only dissenting vote. She took issue with other councillors' "condescending" praise for the failed community campaign to save it. www.theage.com.au/national/vic...
