Apropos of nothing in particular, just resharing this chart showing why North Sea gas is drying up (we burned it all already)

I hoped the combined fcu+cylinder (multi+) system would be good for PH but came with too small a cylinder compared with the space heat output and compressor size - overpowered for small PH, not enough hot water for big one

Or an earnings cut if you can't put prices up 20%

UK has 1.86 million (according to zapmap - I was just curious to see the comparison)

Honestly the collective national level of disdain for Brits living in Dubai on all my social media platforms today really is bringing the UK together as one in a way that's hard to achieve in the modern era.

Does the analysis show bias in mating, or difference in fertility of hybrid offspring depending on species of mother&father?

The current argument of the British right is that Muslims turned out in "blocs" with "family voting" to cast their ballots for a party led by a gay Jewish man, and this shows that multiculturalism has failed, voting is "sectarian" and we are in a crisis.

Hmmmmmm.

Map appears to be showing largest single source - for GB gas is only fossil source - wind solar and hydro combined are more, and with nuclear make majority non-fossil

We used a borate woodworm preventative treatment 20 yrs ago on some new oak which is now showing plenty of woodworm holes
I dont have confidence it would work any better in sheepswool

That's my experience - last week I repaired my elderly pc with used parts as full replacement extortionate.

Also means I didnt need to pay microsoft the new pc windows tax, so they have a bit less to spend on AI

This looks logical enough - till you ralise there's actually a bloody great hole full of mud and water, untraversably bisecting the blue half 🤯

Map *actually* looks like this

I'm with you on that - I generally advise people that they just need a standard ASHP - they're available in stock, reasonably priced, and it's not hard to find an installer in who knows how to fit them

London gangs recruit children on Snapchat to steal iPhones for £380 The Metropolitan police is deploying drones and ebikes to help catch adolescent phone thieves

Looking at these ebikes in pic I don't think the police are limited to 15mph here - would it be helpful to call them electric motorbikes? (can see motorebike helmet, I assume they are legally motorbikes)

The smart home counter-revolution has begun It started with a cute lost puppy.

Owners of Ring doorbells are being advised to smash them to splinters after a commercial showed how they could be used to surveil and identify humans with AI. Super Bowl LX may be remembered as the start of a counter-revolution against the technology. lloydalter.substack.com/p/the-smart-...

Two pc motherboards on desk

Another AI side-effect - computer chip prices have doubled! Motherboard on my PC just failed. RAM not compatible with new one so bothering to replace with 2nd hand from ebay (to save about £800 - also reflecting only performance upgrade I need is for it to work reliably)

There's always option of using a water source HP (ie GSHP) with cold water loop to the fan/heat exchanger. Then no site refrigerant pipework to deal with. I think Forest has this as option for their small GSHP units when used in apartments and all can share roof heat mounted ex?

I've just skimmed through the background info on this consultation. Am I right that Lab have looked at all the visas granted over last 5 years (not necessarily by them) and just thought if these all convert to ILR by 2029 them Reform will destroy them - as any fool knows immigration is just bad

Irregular reminder that heat pumps work in old buildings - this is our local cinema, built in 1910, not insulated - but now warm thanks to air-air heat pumps
