Same with cycling directions in NL. Doesn’t work.

This is like the tenth research group using a totally new dataset to reach this same conclusion: building new market-rate housing helps low-income tenants.
"These findings demonstrate that housing supply expansions benefit lower-income households through moving chains"

Bewildering that anyone can think AGI is on the horizon.

Personally I loved it. But I have always been in a story for whatever it had to share with me.

Most of the criticism I read was due to Joel being killed off at the beginning and then being forced to play as a character you hated, for half the game.

But perhaps that was just a shield for hating it because lesbians. Hard to say.

I loved the game either way and planning another play through.

It’s one of the things that is really core to the human experience in my opinion and I legitimately have a hard time understanding or relating to people who don’t or can’t cook and only ever reheat their food at a maximum.

I always thought my mother didn’t think much of videogames, turns out she was watching me play Ocarina of Time all the time when I was younger and liked watching me play. I guess I never noticed or didn’t remember.

A β€œloud” V8 engine?

Bingo. Solving emissions doesn’t solve traffic or urban planning.

Environmentalist vs Urbanist. (You can be both, but I guess many aren’t)

And to be honest, I like the Caisse model. It’s working out much better than whatever they are trying in Toronto right now.

Wait 2 years and see who is happier with their new β€œlight rail”, Toronto or Montreal. Spoiler: it’s gonna be Montreal, hands down.

The REM runs on standard gauge, nothing wrong with it.

I wish people would do this more often. Now I’m just left to doubt whether it is or is not LLM generated.

Is anyone talking about a Summerhill HSR station?

Adam Sandler is in the same category for me.

Cheap email for everyone | Purelymail Let's say you only need one email address, and have 3 GB of data to store. For one year of use, this will cost:

Usually the rails are welded in the hottest time of year, so in the summer they are not under much tension. In the coldest months, they experience the greatest tension, but it should all be within spec.

I’m also on fastmail. But there are cheaper options and I’ll probably switch to one after my prepaid subscription runs out.

Or bus lanes, or car lanes (I live in Utrecht and it snowed a lot last week)

Actually they do plow some priority routes, but it’s basically just stay at home and enjoy the snow.

What is even the theory behind this? If you can’t run a gigantic plow doing the whole road at once, it’s a β€œnightmare”?

The worst example of this in my opinion is Nieuwegein. There is a "sneltram" that goes to Nieuwegein. But it's not actually fast, and it takes too long (30m to Utrecht Centraal). Completely unusable and Nieuwegein has high levels of car ownership.

This is the problem with Dutch transit. It's geared towards accessibility, layered on top of an inefficient built form. If Leusden was built with more density, and Amersfoort had something better than busses, you could compete with the car.

12.01.2026 09:46 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The bus seems okay, but it takes 20 minutes to get to stn Amersfoort from the middle of Leusden. It's just not competitive with the car. In 20m you're already in Utrecht.

In a real city with rapid transit, 3km would be a 6 minute trip.
