that’s fair, if the game doesn’t implement it then it is more hassle

I’m thinking that too and I’m like “ok you get 3-4 total bans but it can’t be the same weapon. For example you can ban Vshot but not TTek” that way one tricks can still have their weapons but they have to use a different kit and diversify a little bit.

It would have to be like “okay y’all get 1 minute to decide then those weapons are banned for the set” I get why people are hesitant because of the whole “weapon 1 trick gets screwed over” but I think there is strategy to that as well

DBlob exists, also we have 5 people. Ik 1 tricks would have it the most rough, ao it’d probably be more kit by kit levels

Then maybe it’d have to be more kit by kit basis, instead of banning a whole weapon, just ban the kit your scared off…also I find it so hard to believe that the other team will be so hyper fixated on singling out one player

That’s true, but with map lists the way they are, and already having counterpicks in later stages of the tournament, I think with shooters it has to lean towards weapons like how R6 bans operators

This would go both ways as well and just gives that much more strategy into the game while also making people have to be comfortable on a couple different weapons rather than just 1 tricking, now idk if it would be a kit ban vs a full weapon ban, but it could be something fun to experiment with.

I’m not saying we have to fully be like “ban this weapon ban that weapon” but like if players are able to strategically be like “ok our comp struggles hard against these weapons let’s ban these” or “hey ik they have a 1 trick of this weapon, let’s ban it to give us better odds”

Think about it, in Smash they counterban stages that they know their character their character isn’t good on or to nerf their opponent. R6 Siege each team gets to ban 2 operators before the start of the set to give themselves a better chance to win.

Ok hear me out, I was thinking about this because at SoCallie someone I knew was having their first Splatoon tournament and went “it’s really weird y’all don’t have bans”. Now IK this is not the case of “ban one weapon because too good” but moreso counterbans.
