I understand your feelings about the life he lived and I agree he shouldn't be celebrated. However we also should be able to say he shouldn't have been killed and the loss of life is tragic. Someone who was targeted by similar attempts being empathetic to that should not be a problem.

Yes. We can say that his assassination was horrific and still not make him someone he wasn't. The idea he went on college campuses and had good faith debates with people to educate the world is laughable.

Maybe someone who was targeted by political violence can empathize with Kirk and his family. We cannot lose our humanity. The answer the right and their lack of humanity with our own only makes this problem worse.

The question that should have been asked is: whether it was safe to give in 2021? If so, then its safe to give now. And if its safe to give now then shouldn't we let people choose to get it if they want it. And shouldn't we continue to say that the vaccine is safe.

Congress has been ceding power for at least 20+ years. It's because they are all feckless and afraid to do anything that might make them lose the next election. They won't take a vote on the real issues of the day to try and solve problems.

Even as poor as he's been as a thrower, what last night showed was that we win 2 more games with a good OL last year.

It sounds exactly like the police force used by the Klan in the 1920s. A Fever in the Heartland covers this in depth and the parallels are mind-boggling.

Agreed. I think we get stuck with Mizzou but Arkansas is just primed for a huge rivalry. Especially in all the other sports. But they probably get Texas, A&M, and LSU.

College football is already the biggest small sample sport out there. 12 games. Only 3 or 4 against teams outside of your league. And many of those games aren't even matched teams.

Absolutely ridiculous. Its being mean to be mean. Kids brought here by their parents at a young age are getting an education to help make their lives better and to better this state and nation and we try to make this impossible.

How much power does it use? Are we securing our power grid to allow for that usage and our population?

The Thunder couldn't get a Xmas day game a year after having the best record on the west and being a young fun team. It isnt just MLB that overvalued the coasts.

Agree completely with this. The answer seems different depending on every circumstance. Sport, nature of the league, time since transition. Allow the leagues to set their own rules.

Of course we will never end opposition entirely. But we can get it to the same place as racism and gay marriage.
06.08.2025 00:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
Look, we've still got racist bigots running around everywhere. But the vast majority of people think its horrific and most of society shins it. Gay marriage went from a point where President Obama "opposed" it in his first election to one where it had broad support.

There will always be some. But we don't need 100%. We need 70% to make this issue go away. Once it hurts politically or in pocket books for some it will go back to the fringes of the internet.

I think it starts with talking about Trans kids humanity. That is always the way to sway hearts which will sway minds. Thats what prevailed on gay marriage and has swayed people on immigration. In their minds they see roided out Arod in his prime wearing a wig. Show them reality.

Yes! Tax exempt churches w horsing candidates is bad enough, but this is what we will see. "Sketchy" churches being used as election funding sources.

"Establishment Dem" was also an incredibly flawed candidate. The lesson isnβt pick more progressive candidates. It is pick new blood. From a broader group that fit the areas they represent. Thats how you win broadly.
