[Beyond] The Darts – Apocalypse Seattle's The Darts are making their way to Reno at The Alpine May 2nd and I couldn't be more excited. I am totally digging their brand of spooky infused noisy garage rock. Their last album was released in 2025 titled Nightmare Queens and so far in 2026 they have released a few singles, with Apocalypse highlighted below. They will have fellow noise rock outfit Service and Reno's Pussy Velour opening the show.

I've always had a soft spot to catchy hazy dream pop tunes, with Hwang's 2016 self titled release one I still play to this day. [Beyond] Packaging – Live @ KEXP So cool to see Packaging performing and sound fantastic on KEXP. I saw Seattle's Packaging last October during Reno's Off Beat Music Festival, which so happened to be the band's first ever performance. [Beyond] Guv – Blue Jade Los Angeles' Guv comes to Reno February 18th at The Holland Project in support of his new album Warmer Than Gold, which dropped on Run For Cover Records this January. Guv's sound reminds me a lot of the more pop friendly tracks from Drab Majesty in regards to catchy melodies and basslines. Warmer Than Gold is a solid album and I am enjoying it very much. Sonny and the Sunsets was one of the first bands I started listening to and followed when I moved to San Francisco back in 2010. My first exposure to Sonny was his track from an incredible compilation titled In a Cloud, which featured other San Francisco bands as well. It was the perfect introduction to music from the City during that time period when so much cool stuff was going on during that time.

Print Exchange by Laika Press.
