ANSJI would like to particularly congratulate African Nova Scotian MLAs Twaila Grosse and Suzy Hansen, as well as Adegoke Fadare (pronounced ‘Ah-da-go-key Fah-dar-eh’) who is now the ninth person of African descent elected to the Nova Scotia Legislature.

ANSJI remains steadfast in our commitment to the Black community in Nova Scotia. We look forward to a continued partnership with the provincial government and working with the Department of Justice, the Office of African Nova Scotian Affairs, and the Office of Equity and Anti-Racism.

On behalf of the African Nova Scotian Justice Institute (ANSJI), we congratulate the 54 re-elected and newly-elected Nova Scotia Members of the Legislative Assembly following last week’s provincial election.

Our mandate is to address issues of systemic racism in the justice system that negatively impact Black and African Nova Scotians while ensuring fair, legal, and constitutional treatment of all Black and African Nova Scotians.
