Surely they can lose even more money on AI.

My kid wonders if it could be from Minecraft.

I would get normal sand or water.

Kinetic sand usually makes me go "ick"

I used to get my kids to help. They mostly don't want to anymore.

The ability to carry unused time forward or borrow from the future are both important. Probably more so than the pop up interface.

Like maybe a box that pops up and says "Time's up! Continue? And then converts to a little timer in the corner if you continue.

It does something to warn you about your time for the day being up, and remind you for far over time you are.

Anyone know of something like this?

I'm looking for a usage tracking app for an Android device with the following properties:

You set a desired usage goal on a per app basis. (Eg, 20 minutes per day on YouTube) Unused amounts are carried over to the next day. If you go over, unused amounts are borrowed from the following day.

I'll see how my count goes, but there's likely one for you.

Are you sure it's not for the "Jerry, no!"s?

A table covered in many small partially painted cards taped four at a time to wooden boards. They currently have an abstract wash drying in them. Also visible, an Advent wreath with one candle, various paints and brushes.

It's holiday card day. I might have one or two extra this year, anyone want a holiday card?

I can't stand the feel of toothpaste without water so diluted will have to be better than unbrushed.

A watercolour painting that was supposed to be the ICC building in The Hague.

A watercolour painting that was supposed to be the ICC building in The Hague.

The problem with painting two places that I haven't been is I have no idea if they do what I want or not.

This one isn't turning out like what I had in my head.

At my house we're doing both frog and crab facts, and OMG some of the frog facts.

"We have to make sure all people can drive downtown"

That's ridiculous. Not everyone can drive.

Oh *this* time they respond.
They think the bill is great. They didn't bother respond to any of my specific concerns.

If you're zoning out watching your kids' swimming lesson with me, this is what you get.

Ugh. Swimming pools.

Which doesn't mean that those instructions about the treatment of widows don't have anything to teach us, but it's a lot broader than women whose husband has died.

05.12.2025 02:26 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Maybe a more concrete example helps: in the genre of wealth and poverty: the Bible talks a lot about aid for widows. That's a cultural category that doesn't have the same impact in 21st century North America. If we read those passages and focus specifically on widows, we've missed the point.

05.12.2025 02:22 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I actually think the opposite of this. We can't apply those teachings *unless* we reckon with the ways in which the world is different.

Trying to blindly apply those ideas without taking the time to translate them into our context world have us looking in all the wrong places.

Ah. On mobile Instagram you click the Instagram logo and select following. But you have to go back to the terrible interface for... Everything.

And it still does some stupid filtering nonsense.

05.12.2025 00:26 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Even of you step away from questions of fact...

It's pretty clear to me that masculinity and femininity had different meanings in the context Paul was writing from than they do today.

Not that he was wrong or we are, but things are different.

His overall point may hold if we can still see it.

Give it to me and I will put sewing supplies in it as is correct.

(A joke. Don't actually give it to me, shipping would be silly.)

In the context in which this video is taken, your advice to stay left would have been even more dangerous.

This driver screwed up. Stop trying to blame anyone else.

Drivers illegally entering the incoming lane while being completely oblivious is dangerous.

Stop trying to blame the cyclist who did everything right.

04.12.2025 23:44 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I'll admit the cyclist didn't signal. If you think that would have helped, I have a bridge to sell you.

He was not in the middle of the road. He was in the right side of his own lane exactly where he was supposed to be for a right turn.
