And I got it to an eatable state before bedtime!

I once set a pyrex on a hot burner by accident. When it turned the burner off it started ticking and I had just enough time to swear, grab my toddler, and flee the room.
That kitchen was in a room of it's own. Thankfully.
My house is built in 1961 and it's is mid-century basic box for people to live in. There are mid-century modern houses up the hill. We toured one once, out of curiousity.
I wouldn't trade.
ohhh nooooo

Time to make a cauldron of chili.

Funny story, maybe a year ago my car started to complain about tire pressure. Added air and pressed the reset button to no avail. Took it to the dealership and they said *shrug* dunno it's old.
Last week we had a flat and replaced the old tires so we asked the tire place.
Force them to experience it (and their own noise) by mandating that cars can't have closed windows?

Oh I'm sorry.
That's our weird little racist in tour.
I am an obligate morning person and this is going to be great.

One guy told me "No. The drugs were have these days never fail so there's never an opportunity for drug resistance."
But (once again) This looks like a lot of drug failures to me!
Maybe 15 years ago I was a grad student working on mathematical models of HIV transmission. We were working with some clinicians and public health people to provide modeled predictions for their work.
The question came up: do we need to include drug failures and drug resistance to the model?
I know at least one person who joined to get their teeth fixed.

I don't know how to do that at scale.
Yeah. I'm sure there are contexts where it works, where you get joy and community out of it, but the difference between that joyful welcome and gloomy gatekeeping isn't actually policy or structure or liturgy.
It's just people.
"I don't know, can you?"

There's also...
My teenaged years were characterized by a closed table (gated by something closer to confirmation than baptism) and featured a lot of scrutiny around who was serious enough or whatever. Joyful is not among the words I'd use.

He wants you to consult some kind of authority about your flowerbed?
Can you imagine your municipality's reaction of you tried to consult them?
