I ran Tails of Equestria for my 5-yo daughter and her friends and it's honestly a phenomenally good system to introduce young kids to TTRPGs, probably the best I've seen in terms of its simplicity. I wish they'd been able to keep going with it, but licensing is a nightmare.

Yeah, and considering how many people probably have it it's had shockingly little research done, and even less of that widely disseminated. I know a bunch of people whose lives have been ruined by it, had multiple excisions, and still get shit from doctors thinking they're making it up.

Having to move web hosting for my UK based LRP system's website - anyone got any recommendations or places to avoid?

Exactly! A Korean street food place near us started doing it. Its now sadly closed, but my partner recreated it - add some chopped spring onions, cucumber & bell peppers, and some mayo and its amazing.

Same, but I still go back to Cholula if I want a more tongue than nasal kick. I've recently been adding a lot more kimchi to stuff also - kimchi and cheese fries are awesome.

Any given LRP is going to have some scaffolding around it, which could be construed as Rules. Sometimes the rules are invisible to players (self-imposed rules from the organisers), but still present. I'd argue that a completely rulesless LRP experience is Improv Theatre with itself as audience.

I hope you get some magnetic dice or at least a digital die roller app. Rolling them bones is going to be tough in microgravity.

LRP and TTRPGs can both have a spectrum of rules overhead and complexity. Both can have variable Immersion levels. The core difference is that one has physicality and the other doesn't. The L and the TT are the primary distinguishing points.

Are you saying here that LRP doesn't have rules and TTRPGs always do? I mean I've played both that vary from "lots" to "barely any" in roughly equal measure. I'd argue that both are equally the same, and that both have an indefinable line on the low end that makes either cross into Improv.

Is it a "single giant cell" type one, or the actual "a bunch of individuals coming together to form a colony" slime mold type? If the latter, it should definitely refer to itself as "we".

It's one of those situations where more information is actually bad, because of the perverse incentives and knock on effects. Similar to the introduction of school league tables.

I don't remember offhand and will have to check my copy. I think the possible effects were massive but if you did something huge you would probably turn into a skeleton. It was very hard to be a wizard. TBF the game was mostly focused on the Highly Simulationist combat mechanics.

And yet for some reason they seem happy with 98.6F for body temp (but that in itself is problematic because human body temp isn't actually standardized).

The otherwise incredibly unwieldy magic system in the Riddle of Steel inherently aged and damaged your character for casting magic, but otherwise you could do it whenever. It was very janky though.

Yeah, it was a bit hairy at the start as Thunderspeaker takes a while to get going. We had a lot of protection and movement abilities between us, so were able to do containment for a chunk of the game. Then occasionally I would march a horde of Dahan into a settler city and raze it to the ground.

Battlezone 2 also did this, but allowed you to swap to top-down when you built a radar building (but you were still your character in the radar building). It was pretty fun multiplayer, but the native unit AI was baaaaad.
