Lies, damn lies, and Fraser Institute studies Maybe they didn't expect anyone to fact check their work. I did it anyways.

The Fraser Institute published a study on the fiscal cost of Canada’s low-carbon economy -- one that (shocker!) found lots of money spent on relatively few jobs.

I fact checked it for them. It didn't go well.

Alberta Strong and Free, Notwithstanding The UCP's Bill 2 skirts the legislature and the courts, leaving it up to the public to push back swiftly

The UCP government has invoked time allocation and on a bill removing Albertans' Charter rights.

And they're using the notwithstanding clause to do it.

Here's why that is a dangerous precedent. And why real conservatives need to stand up against it.

The first time an Alberta government invoked the notwithstanding clause, public outrage forced a reversal in less than 24 hours. I wish to God Albertans would show the same moral fury now, when school children are outed & bullied by the government that is supposed to protect them. #ableg #abpoli

Not good enough. Her own office is implicated. The investigation can’t be delivered to the people being investigated. How dumb does she think Albertans are? /1

Bruce MacKinnon, the editorial cartoonist at the Halifax Chronicle-Herald, drew this last November.

No newspaper would print it.

It now deserves an outing.

This is a shameful day for the province.

We are spending billions on a line that no one will ride, and admitting that their elevated alignment is impossible and never will be built.

Quick thread on quick links to get in touch with the Alberta UCP government about coal (and whatever else you'd like to talk to them about - there are a few things these days).

PLEASE pass these links to friends and family through your messaging/email/text/whatever. They WANT them, I promise.

Masking Fear - Wearing a Mask -Alberta Views β€œI just want to thank you,” the woman says. β€œI want to thank you for wearing a mask.” Her voice echoes in my ears.

"I know people are tired of COVID, I know how badly we all want to forget how awful things were at their worst, how many millions died, how many more were left with long-term health consequences. Like a modern-day memento mori, my masked face reminds people of horrors they’d rather deny"

Former advocate now says cancel the Green Line Instead of scrambling to salvage the Green Line, based on a three-month long study, we need to go back and find better alternatives.

β€œprioritizing the southeast leg is not a decision rooted in data. In fact, the years of study for the original alignment revealed that the southeast leg required the north-central ridership to justify skipping the BRT stage.”
