Cooling paint harvests water from thin air University of Sydney researchers, working with startup Dewpoint Innovations, have developed a paint-like polymer that can passively cool buildings and extract atmopsheric water, an invention that could cool urban heat islands and supplement tank water.

Ansto Explores Quantum Science During National Science Week Decoding the universe: ANSTO explores nature’s hidden quantum language this National Science Week. Professor David Smith at ANSTO utilises quantum-based techniques to investigate the fundamental properties of quantum materials and their energy states. This research addresses the challenge of understanding energy at the subatomic level, potentially enabling advancements in materials science and energy technologies. Considering energy exists in discrete units called quanta, how will harnessing these principles reshape our understanding of the universe and its building blocks.
