Then spare modules are a pool of modules to assign to different skills as you wish. You start with spare modules equal to your intellect.

Clash win effects on evade dice only apply when clashing with other defensive dice. Against offensive dice, only the [on evade] tag applies.
As for the [check], it checks independently every time it's rolled.
