There is a beautiful children’s book „hinter verzauberten Fenstern“ (behind enchanted windows) by Cornelia Funke in which the protagonist gets such an advent calendar while her brother gets one with chocolate (unfair!). But then she falls into the world of the calendar every night. Lovely book!

Funnily enough if you buy a Weihnachtswürstchen from a Weihnachtswürstchenbaum and put it on your Weihnachtsbaum you’ll have Weihnachtsbaumwürstchen.

Usually I find Jazz-with-an-orchestra-records to be almost unlistenable. This record from 1958 is a welcome exception (‘91, Japanese reissue). Beautifully laidback and only almost kitschy.* Perfect for days which are both dark and rainy.

*no guarantees, might be very kitschy

I don’t follow Joe Rogan at all but I‘ve never seen him looking so worried about a guest he’s had.
