A grey, orange, and green painterly and stylized anthro coyote figure dances and sways, swinging their red, beaded, embroidered coat against an abstract background. An antler with a broken tine is superimposed in front of the figure, complementing their movement.
"Antler Dance"
18"x24"
Acrylic, paint pen, colored pencil, soft pastel, and charcoal on reclaimed wood
Sway to the rhythm of nature's perfection. Stand strong like the antler, and know that even if you fall and shatter, you'll grow back even stronger.

We SHOULD be immortalizing our red cedars, too, because the ones on Laughing Coyote Thingstead are looking rrrrrrough. They no like drought. We're slowly replacing them with ponderosas and oaks, but I love them, still. I'll miss them.

We got more clay! What lil guys should I make...?
Gonna shoot for pendants and small figurines and critters painted on the sides of vessels. We're going to play more with impressions of natural objects from the Thingstead. Eventually, we'll do bigger objects and saggar fire them. SO EXCITING

You're not alone. Keep one another accountable and safe. Figure out when you need someone to tap in for you.
Aside from that, a lot of it was situation-dependent. I'd recommend checking local orgs for similar trainings! Very beginner friendly.

Today Echo and I did a free nonviolent de-escalation class in town. It was VERY good for me as a strongly conflict-adverse person to practice being on-the-spot, feeling the fear, but being in a safe, supportive environment (and thus, proving to my fearful body that we're not in danger).

Thanks! The technique is usually done with horse hair, and we have a connection that's gonna hook us up with some, but the feathers do pretty well, too! Next we're going to try dry usnea lichen, cotton thread, and dried mushrooms. We'll see what happens!

I am working on it, she's a little statue I made for myself, and I'm drafting a nice post for her ā„ In this shot she's unfired earthenware (we're using a kind of terracotta colored clay) but she's much cooler looking now

An artist friend told me one of their artist friends use the term "power zone" instead of comfort zone, and this feels like your power zone for sure. Your poses are so dynamic and alive!
