Can't pick an art style? Just pretend your original character has a multiverse featuring different art styles.

Art process summary for my Cathy fan art. My art process doesn't suit everyone, I think it goes for every tutorial there is because everyone's art is subjective to their own preferences. This is also not an in-depth tutorial if ever but, here are some of the details about my process:

1. Thumbnail sketches: to see the bigger picture and to make the final piece more dynamic and fluid.

2. Color and shape blocking let's you see how the final image may look like. You may ask yourself questions like: are the shapes/forms readable? Do I like the color contrasts?

3. Line art (clear lines that are easy to follow for coloring. I have a painterly style, so the lineart isn't that "clean")

4. Rendering in b&w or color.

5. Coloring: first pass in overlay. Shadows in multiply layer. Strong lighting in color dodge or screen. Depends on what output I want.

6. Detailing. Always remember to see the bigger picture because, sometimes detailing too much on one section makes the entire painting incohesive.

7. Polishing: filters

Note: I'm missing the actual coloring process πŸ˜† the one that's dull colored. The last panel here is already the polished painting.

My Cathy fan art, process summary.

1. Thumbnail sketches to determine options, also it kinda makes your art more dynamic or less stiff.
2. Color/shape blocking, to determine whether the painting is readable
3. Line art and rendering
4. Coloring using layer modes
5. polishing

The planet Uranus on a black background. The planet appears blue with a large, white patch taking up the right half. The patch is whitest at the center, then fades into blue at it expands from right to left. A thin outline of Uranus is also white. Around the planet is a system of nested rings. The outermost ring is the brightest while the innermost ring is the faintest. Unlike Saturn’s horizontal rings, the rings of Uranus are vertical and so they appear to surround the planet in an oval shape. There are 9 blueish white dots scattered around the rings.

In this Webb image, Neptune resembles a pearl with rings that look like ethereal concentric ovals around it. There are 2 thinner, crisper rings and 2 broader, fainter rings. A few extremely bright patches on the lower half of Neptune represent methane ice clouds. Six tiny white dots, which are six of Neptune’s 14 moons, are scattered among the rings. The background of the image is black.
