Snowflake Temperature blanket pattern by Kaye Adolphson These are basic instructions for a hexagon motif to use specifically for a temperature blanket although it could be used for a normal blanket as well.

Each hexagon represents the daily low and high temperature, and the snowflake overlay is the daily rainfall.

I'm up to date with my crochet temperature blanket for once! It's getting pretty big - at 65 inches it's longer than I am tall.

Oh my gosh, that is going to be amazing! I've only done mosaic crochet in the round so far - I think I'm a bit scared of doing it in rows...

Four large mosaic crochet squares, each made up of four smaller squares in a star motif. Each large square uses two colours, with the colour order being reversed on each pair of squares.

First four large squares completed and all ends sewn in! Only another five to go (and some sort of border, but I'll work that out when I get there).

Just got to round 17 of a 22 round crochet square to realise that I'd got the colours the wrong way around. Had to unravel the whole thing and start again...

Meanwhile I've thoroughly washed the wound on my hand; and no, I haven't been able to do anything about the mats.

The only good thing about the resident feline having dementia is that five minutes after absolutely savaging me for trying to deal with the mats developing in his chest fur, he's completely forgotten about it and is purring away.

I don't have too many examples of hats for this week's #ShowMeYourKnits prompt (and even fewer with decent photos) but I used to knit them for my husband to wear while running.

Mostly knitted in 2x2 rib in yarns from Posh Yarn.

A little (in more than one sense) happy happy from this morning. I don't think I've seen a wren on the bird feeder before, though I know they live nearby as I often hear them.

The serene sleep of a cat who woke me up at 5am for breakfast. To be fair, 5 is on the late side for him...

A crochet blanket laid out (mostly) flat. The blanket is made up of hexagons in colours reflecting the daily weather conditions, and go from shades of blue at the bottom (i.e. the beginning of the year) through green, yellow and pink as temperatures warm up. At the top of the picture the yellow shades return as we move into autumn and the weather cools down.

I got way behind with my crochet blanket as I ran out of the light yellow and then ordered the wrong shade so had to reorder the correct one.

Nearly caught up - finished the whole of September and the first couple of days of October.

This cartoon reminds me so much of the mortgage advisor when we were buying our first house. He was *so* insistent on trying to sell us an endowment mortgage - we had to sign a letter saying that we were going against his professional advice in choosing a standard repayment one...

I get it. I had a 2.5 year period from May 2015 to November 2017 where I lost three cats and a husband. It's all grief, whatever people think.

Hell, I want to use it too and mine's dead...

The irony being that he appears to be profoundly incurious about anything outside his own sphere of interest.
