“What do you use to write down sudden ideas?”

Notebook? Journal? Phone app?

For me, it’s 80% the iphone notes app just bc I have my phone on me so often. But I do love writing notes and ideas in a notebook with a nice pen.

The best tool of any Dungeon Master, Game Master, or whoever runs the game… LISTENING SKILLS.

It leads to collaborative storytelling and worldbuilding, but further than that it provides a simple pathway to show care, investment, and respect 💖

This is how I feel about the older mentality of “earning respect”. Like no… everyone gets respect. And then based on your actions and stuff, maybe you lose that respect and have to earn it back, but… that’s different. The default is respect.

We already did one for a friend pharmaceutical commercial and one of those low budget lawyer commercials. What’s next!?!?

Yeah it’s all about what excites different people. Not everyone likes critical role but some do. Different strokes for different folks.

But I definitely agree with playing around with episode length and stuff. We want to explore that big time. Both with D&D and other systems.

How can we continue to push the envelope for an actual play is, looks like, feels like…

We know the story and cast are at the heart of it, of course. But what else can we play with?

Especially when you can’t do in-studio stuff. We want to be on the front lines of that movement.

What if your D&D and TTRPG advice and tip content was also beautifully shot and edited?

I seek to find out. Stay tuned. Also keep in mind, I’m broke so this isn’t a matter of nice gear or fancy programs. 😅

I’ve started putting a tiny bit more effort into shooting and editing short form content… and it’s been fun actually.

It reminded me how necessary it is to think about the edit before you even start filming…
