Looking at a complication of them now... it's really nice to see how they convey time of day in outdoor shots. It's really just a ratio of magenta or teal.

They're really a marvel... it's something that hasn't really been recreated in a production environment since it came out.

They really knew how to rescale and simplify Tokyo, interiors, foliage, etc. to re-contextualize the show into a romantic, dreamlike space.
